Hello All:
Once again it's time for the Weardale perspective on life. Today we went back to the blustery and cool days of summer. Sarah and I tried to work in the garage but it was way too windy, so I did bookkeeping and she wash and sorted the little bits of crystals and cubes.
Byron brought a beautiful plate home last night that I think David might want. As there is no way to cut and clean and most importantly dry the plate before he comes I have left it be in the garage. It is a beauty, but not quite an outstanding A, so available for sale.
After I had lunch I started out on my errands. First stop - Consett at Focus. I need another water gun. I found the man in the paint department who knows the inventory. After a through discussion about spray paint guns, he asked me if I was the American lady who buys spray guns and bins every summer. Well..Yes. He is going to order six extra guns. If we don't use them then they'll be stocked until next year. Wow. So next Friday, I should have an unending supply.
Next stop was Watson's to make and appointment to get my muffler replaced. They already had it in and one cup of tea later I had a new muffler. No more hot-rod coming down the valley. Personally, I was going deaf from the noise. While waiting for the muffler to be installed I also discovered a rather unique way to rid one's establishment of rats. You call the local exterminator, who equipped with a ferret, takes care of your problem on the spot. Seems all other methods leave chemicals and holes in walls, noise, etc. Hence, your friendly ferret expert. No dead bodies either, as the evidence is consumed. Gee, you would think with all of California's efforts to be green, somebody would have thought about this?! But being they are illegal...
Then I ran into the bank which, luckily was still open at 4:15pm. I honestly thought it closed at 4pm. Then finally home, via two hay trucks and road construction - 1740. Took awhile, but I have the new and improved quiet car, so zoom.
Byron and crew are hard at work. They let a round off yesterday to lift various floor areas, so mucking and cleaning today. Some more has to be done, and hopefully new areas to dig. Must have rocks and mud.
Hope everyone is well.
Cheers,
Jonina and Byron
