Greetings,
Monday morning started off with rain showers which have continued on and off all day long, it has also been cool -- cold if you asked Kerith who has had the heat on all day in Burnbrae. I went up to the Rogerley mine where much of the morning was spent by all packing up the pieces Byron had sawn up over the weekend.
On the bright side Rob made it back to work - basically spent his time wrapping except for the last 2 or 3 hours when he was mucking the North West Crosscut, or at least starting too. Byron had sawn up the huge boulder that had been dropped previously and it yielded a number of very nice specimens which took quite a while to wrap. Just before lunch we had to have Dave drill the behemoth and blast it so we could get it out of the way and put the set back it took out. I rolled the big bits out for Dave to pick up, he spent the day mucking the face, but still has not gotten back into the vein yet.
After lunch Byron started on the south side of the original West Crosscut and had several large plates exposed, one with a nearly 3.5" on edge green cube of fluorite but likely to be dull; I spent my time collecting a few nice purple twins on matrix and then back to the Dipper Pocket for a couple of hours where I pulled out mostly average quality pieces but several large fine gem twins off matrix in the 1.5" size range. We managed to fill Byron's and my vehicle to the ceiling with buckets of wrapped material, will be interesting to see what it all boils down to.
That's all there is from this place way north of Lake Woebegone.
Best Regards,
Cal & Kerith
