Greetings,

Yesterday was another gray misty overcast day with a high perhaps near 70, absolutely still and high humidity but not uncomfortable due to the low temperature. Today, Wednesday, is blue skies, a light breeze and very pleasant, in fact glorious.

I spent the middle portion of the morning making phone calls trying to set up a meeting with the Planning Commission, a continuation of last year's meeting; phoning the ultrasonic service department in Cardiff and ordering lumber and pallets from the lumber yard. Jonina spent a portion of her morning tracking down the information on shipping from Shenker and she and Kerith made a CostCo run to Gateshead about 40 miles and an hour away.

Byron and I spent the day a few feet apart working the flats in the West Crosscuts and several outstanding specimens were produced. I spent a good deal of the morning working on a siliceous limonitic heavy boulder that refused to budge for the past three days and finally came loose. It will be sawn up and I am sure I have done Byron no favors as it is extremely heavy and has patches of crystals at all sorts of odd positions on the piece. Byron was tearing at the pillar just behind the one I was working on and has gotten it down to about one rock wide and ready to remove, in process he came up with several very good pieces. Once this area is finished there is not a lot more showing and we will have to do some exploration. To this end holes were drilled opposite the Black Sheep Pocket, in the Dipper Pocket, in a small area that produced some interesting purples and one other place Byron wanted a pill put in. Overall a nice day for all involved.

With today's nice promising weather hopefully we can get the shed stained and waterproofed. I have a mine tour with John and Marie Land about 11:00 a.m. and Jesse and Joan are due in today from York area so we may well see them up at the mine this afternoon.

That's it from this place way north of Lake Woebegone.

Best Regards,

Cal & Kerith
