Presented here is a small selection of Fluorite and other mineral specimens from various worldwide locations other than the UK. We will be adding to this page as interesting specimens become available, so please check back. As always, the scale coin, a British 2 pence, is 1 inch (2.5 cm) in diameter.

Fluorite, Jorf Mine, near Alnif, Southern Morocco
A sharp, amber-yellow penetration-twin fluorite crystal, 2.3 cm on edge, perched on a mound of smaller fluorite crystals. Most have a pale blue-green core zone. Nice specimen from a new location. 7x4x4 cm overall size.

Fluorite on Galena, Naica, Chihuahua, Mexico
A sharp, transparent, pale lavender fluorite crystal, 3 cm on edge, perched on a mound of lustrous galena crystals. The fluorite shows both cube and octahedral faces. Minor quartz associated. 5x5x3 cm overall size. Excellent miniature.

Fluorite with Celestite, Clay Center, Ohio, USA
A ridge of limestone matrix covered with white, blade-like celestite crystals up to 4 cm long. Scattered about are numerous amber-brown, highly lustrous fluorites up to 2.2 cm on edge. 11x6x5 cm overall. Very good condition, nice combination from recent find.

Barite, Meikle Mine, near Carlin, Elko Co., Nevada
A mound of sharp, mirror-luster yellow barite crystals up to 4 cm on edge. One crystal has a small cleave, otherwise in perfect condition. Specimen shows well from all angles. 9x7x6 cm overall size. Excellent specimen from a modern classic locality.

Fluorite on Quartz, Mine de Fontsante, Var, France
A cluster of stepped, cubic, fluorite crystals up to 2.8 cm on edge, on a matrix of white crystalline quartz. Fluorite has a lavender core with purple at the surface. Appears purple in artificial light and teal-blue in sunlight. 11x6x3 cm overall size. A good specimen from a famous, and now closed French locality.

Fluorite with Sphalerite, Minerva #1 Mine, Hardin Co., Illinois
A cluster of sharp, mirror-luster, cubic fluorite crystals up to 1.4 cm. Fluorite is yellow with thin purple layer at the cube face. Associated are several well-formed reddish brown sphalerite crystals. 9x6x4 cm overall size. Very good condition.
